Pure jazz - new roots in jazz
From Thursday 11 till Sunday 14 of September
In the heart of The Hague from September 11th until 14th, for the third time Pure Jazz, the Jazz festival featuring national and international jazz music, will take place. Pure Jazz will conjure the Spuiplein in a full park called: The Hague Central Park.
Many well known performers such as José James, Giovanca, Jeremy Pelt, Kraak & Smaak, Orchestra Baobab, Pete Philly, Neco Novellas, Izaline Calister as well as 250 top musicians will show that The Hague and jazz are inseparable. This festival will prove it once again. The performances are held on and around The Hague Central Park (Spuiplein), both outdoors and on inside stages.
For the little ones among us, there is Saturday 13th September from 14.00 hours a free children's Pure Kids on The Hague Central Park in the tent. And we have a collaboration with The Rabbijn Maarsenplein, on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th there will be a free stage from 4 till 10 p.m. with a variety of artists: James Brown Tribute Band, Lewinsky Quartet, Eline Gemerts Band and many more. The fourth day is concluded with a resounding World Jazz program on a site with the most beautiful view of the city: Korzo5HOOG.
With the slogan ‘New Roots in Jazz’, Pure Jazz travels an adventurous territory within the scene; Jazz, Jazznotjazz, Soul, World, Funk and HipHop, it’s all covered. The term Pure refers to the inspiration and innovation of the jazz origins. The line up at the festival features headliner musicians and bands from the national and international scene.
Young talent, bands on the verge of breaking through and surprising crossover acts, this all takes place in a unique venue that brings the audience closer to the music.
Location: Theater aan het Spui, SpiZe, Mercure Hotel, The Hague Central Park (Spuiplein), Rabbijn Maarsenplein and Korzo5HOOG (Binckhorstlaan 36)
